- 2 cups macaroni pasta
- 2 medium apples, diced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Dice apples into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked macaroni, diced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the macaroni mixture and stir. If using cheese, add it now.
- Serve warm, garnished with cinnamon or apple slices.
Notes
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
- Add nuts for extra crunch or try pears for a different flavor.
