Ingredients
- 400g penne pasta
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-2 red chili peppers, chopped (adjust to taste)
- 400g crushed tomatoes (canned or fresh)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil leaves
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped chili peppers, sauté until fragrant—about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, season with salt and black pepper. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Add the cooked penne to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes for flavors to meld.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- Adjust chili peppers to control spiciness.
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of red wine or a pinch of sugar to the sauce.
- Alternate toppings include chopped parsley or red pepper flakes for extra heat.
