Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons black pepper, freshly ground
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until bright green. Rinse with cold water.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, then sear marinated beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Set aside.
- Sauté minced garlic in the same skillet for 30 seconds, then add the beef back and stir in ground black pepper.
- Combine blanched green beans, beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sugar; cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens and green beans are tender-crisp.
Notes
- For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or chili oil.
- Omit oyster sauce or substitute with hoisin sauce.
- Add bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms for variations.
- Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
