Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated. Shape into 4-6 oval-shaped patties.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release moisture, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir to coat evenly.
- Gradually pour in beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Add soy sauce if desired. Bring to a simmer and cook until gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spoon mushroom gravy over them, and simmer for 5 minutes to meld flavors. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with your favorite sides.
