Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza dough or homemade pizza base
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: thinly sliced lemon for extra zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Prepare your pizza dough according to store instructions or knead your homemade dough and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Whisk together lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create the lemon-infused sauce.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your preferred thickness and transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the lemon garlic mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. If desired, add thin slices of lemon on top for extra zest.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh lemon juice and consider adding thin lemon slices on top before baking for more citrus flavor.
- Experiment with cheeses like ricotta or feta for a creamier texture.
- Pair with a light salad, such as cucumber caprese, to complement the bright flavors.
