Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and garlic powder. Add yeast mixture and olive oil; knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough; turn onto a floured surface. Roll into a rectangle ½-inch thick. Spread mozzarella evenly, then roll up tightly into a log. Cut into 1-inch slices and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush breadsticks with olive oil, sprinkle with Parmesan and additional garlic powder if desired. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your cheesy breadsticks!
Notes
- Seal leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or refrigerate for about a week.
- Reheat in the oven for best crispy results.
- For longer storage, freeze wrapped breadsticks and reheat in the oven from frozen.
