  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 breadsticks

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and garlic powder. Add yeast mixture and olive oil; knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Punch down the dough; turn onto a floured surface. Roll into a rectangle ½-inch thick. Spread mozzarella evenly, then roll up tightly into a log. Cut into 1-inch slices and place on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush breadsticks with olive oil, sprinkle with Parmesan and additional garlic powder if desired. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your cheesy breadsticks!

Notes

  • Seal leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or refrigerate for about a week.
  • Reheat in the oven for best crispy results.
  • For longer storage, freeze wrapped breadsticks and reheat in the oven from frozen.
