Cheesy Meatloaf Bites are the perfect party appetizer, combining flavorful ground meat with cheesy goodness in bite-sized portions. Easy to make, these savory snacks are ideal for any celebration or casual gathering, offering a delightful combination of tender meat and melted cheese in every bite.

  • Total Time: 35-40 minutes
  • Yield: 20-24 bites

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Take a small portion of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a teaspoon of shredded cheese in the center and mold the meat around the cheese to form a sealed ball. Repeat until all mixture and cheese are used.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the meatballs on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden. Alternatively, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the bites for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked inside.

Notes

  • Ensure not to overmix the meat for tender bites.
  • Feel free to customize the cheese for different flavors.
  • These bites can be baked or fried depending on your preference.
  • For gluten-free options, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
