Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley or herbs for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Take a small portion of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a teaspoon of shredded cheese in the center and mold the meat around the cheese to form a sealed ball. Repeat until all mixture and cheese are used.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the meatballs on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and golden. Alternatively, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the bites for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked inside.
Notes
- Ensure not to overmix the meat for tender bites.
- Feel free to customize the cheese for different flavors.
- These bites can be baked or fried depending on your preference.
- For gluten-free options, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
