- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken in half
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until fragrant and softened.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and broth, then add oregano and basil. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then add broken lasagna noodles. Reduce heat and simmer until noodles are tender, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra Parmesan if desired.
