Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 fat ratio recommended)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, bacon
Additional ingredients for extra flavor
- Butter or oil for grilling
- Favorite condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
Instructions
- Combine ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Mix gently to keep the meat juicy.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than your buns.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil or butter. Cook patties 4-5 minutes per side for medium, adding a slice of cheddar cheese during the last minute.
- Toast the burger buns until golden brown. Spread condiments and assemble with desired toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, and bacon.
- Top with the other bun and serve immediately to enjoy a hot, juicy burger experience.
Notes
- Handle the meat gently to preserve juiciness and avoid over-mixing.
- Shape patties slightly larger than buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
- For extra flavor, add caramelized onions or your favorite sauces.
