- 8 ounces of macaroni pasta
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until smooth. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened.
- Stir in shredded cheese until melted. Add cooked chicken, salt, and pepper.
- Combine the cheese sauce with cooked pasta. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
Notes
- You can substitute shredded turkey or ham for chicken.
- Add a dash of hot sauce for extra zing.
