- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 package (9 oz) tortellini
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
- Add chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Stir in tortellini and cook according to package instructions, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return sausage to the pot, then stir in heavy cream. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute sausage with turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner option.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
