Instructions
- Cook lentils according to package directions and mash slightly with a fork.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed lentils with onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, egg (or flax egg), cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- For extra crispy patties, use panko breadcrumbs.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste; add chili flakes for heat.
- If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs; if too dry, add a tablespoon of water.
- Serve with your favorite burger toppings or a delicious dipping sauce.
