- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup fresh or maraschino cherries, halved and pitted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate and cherries.
- Drop spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes until set.
- Cool on wire racks and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Ensure cherries are pitted to prevent bursting during baking.
- You can substitute maraschino cherries with fresh if available.
