Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup (110g) dried cherries, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend into the butter mixture.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and dried cherries.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are set.
  8. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  • For extra fudginess, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Can substitute fresh or frozen (thawed and drained) cherries for dried, but reduce flour by 1 tbsp.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
