- 1 lb (450 g) of homemade or store-bought meatballs
- 2 cups of marinara sauce or your favorite pasta sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce with dried Italian herbs.
- Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the dish.
- Place the meatballs evenly over the sauce.
- Pour the remaining sauce over the meatballs.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for about 25 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to melt and brown the cheese.
- Garnish with chopped basil or parsley and serve hot with bread, pasta, or vegetables.

- Use high-quality meatballs or make your own for extra flavor.
- For a crisp topping, finish in the air fryer or broiler for 1-2 minutes.
- You can prepare this casserole ahead, assemble, and refrigerate before baking.
