Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil (vegetable or olive oil)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening the sauce)
- 1/4 cup water (if using cornstarch)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, until tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and garlic. If using cornstarch, mix it with water until smooth, then pour over beef and broccoli.
- Stir everything together, bring to a simmer, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Add a teaspoon of grated ginger for warmth.
- Include red pepper flakes or sriracha for spice.
- Feel free to add more veggies like carrots or bell peppers.
- Consider a bit of brown sugar for sweetness.
- Ground turkey or chicken can be used as alternative proteins.
