These plant-based treats combine flaky puff pastry with tender apple filling, spiced with cinnamon and vanilla, then baked to golden perfection. A quick, vegan-friendly recipe that’s ideal for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 doughnuts

Ingredients

Scale
  • One sheet of vegan puff pastry (check out the CAROTE Premium 16pc Nonstick Cookware Set for perfect baking tools)
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegan butter or coconut oil (for brushing)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine sliced apples with cinnamon, coconut sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Unfold the vegan puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out circles about 3 inches in diameter. Cut smaller holes in the center to form doughnut shapes.
  3. Place a teaspoon of apple filling in the center of each doughnut. Seal the edges if desired. Brush with melted vegan butter or coconut oil.
  4. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden.
  5. Allow to cool slightly. Optional: dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with vegan glaze. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use gluten-free puff pastry for a gluten-free version.
  • Ensure all ingredients are nut-free if allergies exist.
  • For extra crunch, reheat in an air fryer or oven before serving.
