- One sheet of vegan puff pastry (check out the CAROTE Premium 16pc Nonstick Cookware Set for perfect baking tools)
- 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons coconut sugar or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegan butter or coconut oil (for brushing)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine sliced apples with cinnamon, coconut sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.
- Unfold the vegan puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out circles about 3 inches in diameter. Cut smaller holes in the center to form doughnut shapes.
- Place a teaspoon of apple filling in the center of each doughnut. Seal the edges if desired. Brush with melted vegan butter or coconut oil.
- Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Allow to cool slightly. Optional: dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with vegan glaze. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Use gluten-free puff pastry for a gluten-free version.
- Ensure all ingredients are nut-free if allergies exist.
- For extra crunch, reheat in an air fryer or oven before serving.
