Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the pork chops dry and season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes and onions in the baking dish, season with salt and pepper, then repeat with the remaining layers.
- Pour heavy cream over the layers, sprinkle cheese on top, arrange pork chops, and drizzle melted butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until pork and potatoes are done.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- Slice potatoes uniformly for even cooking.
- Do not overcrowd the baking dish; use two if necessary.
- Experiment with cheeses like Gruyere or Parmesan.
- If cheese browns too fast, cover with foil towards the end.
- Sauté onions with garlic for added flavor if desired.
