Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds (680g) ground beef or a beef and pork blend
- 1 cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup ketchup, plus extra for topping
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley or herbs for added flavor
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, bread crumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Transfer the mixture onto a baking sheet or loaf pan. Shape into a loaf and spread a thin layer of ketchup on top.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the meatloaf for 50-60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Once baked, let it rest for 10 minutes. Glaze with additional ketchup if desired, then slice and serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For added richness, use a combination of ground beef and pork.
- Soaking the bread crumbs in milk helps keep the meatloaf moist.
- Enhance flavor by adding chopped vegetables or cheese.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
