Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar to make the glaze.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). During the last 15 minutes, add extra glaze for a more caramelized crust.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in herbs like parsley or thyme.
- If using leaner ground turkey, add a splash of broth or a drizzle of olive oil to maintain moisture.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through for best results.
