Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, warm the milk and dissolve yeast, let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and beaten egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush the rolls with garlic butter and sprinkle with parsley. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, optionally brushed with additional garlic butter.
