Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water (110°F)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- Your choice of additional toppings (e.g. bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast and sugar in warm water. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually stir the yeast mixture into the flour mixture, then add olive oil.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness.
- Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce over the surface of your dough. Then, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top. Add slices of pepperoni and any additional toppings you desire.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and bake your pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- Allow leftover pizza to cool completely before storing in an airtight container; it can be kept for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, use an oven for best results or a microwave for quick reheating.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce and a side of salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
