Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken (preferably 90% lean or higher)
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs (whole wheat for a healthier option)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley or cilantro for added flavor
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, bread crumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until ingredients are well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4-6 equal portions. Shape each into a round patty about 1/2-inch thick, creating a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray patties with cooking spray or brush with olive oil. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer without touching.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove patties from the air fryer, let rest for a few minutes, then serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- You can add a dash of hot sauce or shredded cheese to customize flavor.
- For extra moistness, avoid overcooking; use a thermometer to check doneness.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-4 minutes for best crispy results.
