Ingredients
- For the Dough: All-purpose flour, warm milk, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, unsalted butter, egg, salt.
- For the Blueberry Filling: Fresh or frozen blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon.
- For the Glaze: Powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract.
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by activating yeast in warm milk with sugar. Mix in melted butter, egg, flour, and salt. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled.
- Make the blueberry filling by cooking blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon until thickened.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the blueberry filling evenly, then roll tightly into a log. Slice into even pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
- Let the rolls rise again for 30 minutes, then bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Drizzle with vanilla glaze while still warm and serve.
Notes
- Use fresh yeast for the best rise.
- Don’t overfill the rolls to prevent leaks.
- Let the rolls cool slightly before glazing.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
