Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/4 cup cornstarch or all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch (additional, for coating)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Optional garnish: chopped green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper. Optionally, marinate briefly in soy sauce and garlic.
- Mix 1/4 cup of cornstarch with salt and pepper, then toss chicken pieces until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in a single layer for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Add honey and soy sauce, cooking for 1 minute until slightly thickened.
- Return crispy chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat with sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on chicken size for crispy exterior.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce for a less salty dish.
- For extra crunch, double coat chicken in cornstarch.
- Reheat in oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes to maintain crispiness.
