Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds lean ground turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free if needed)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup milk or dairy-free alternative
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- Optional: 1 cup shredded cheese for extra flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the baking dish by greasing it lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated, avoiding overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared baking dish or form it on a baking sheet with a wire rack for even cooking.
- Bake for approximately 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- During the last 10 minutes of baking, brush with your favorite ketchup or BBQ sauce for added flavor and moisture.
Notes
- You can add chopped herbs or diced vegetables to customize the flavor.
- For extra juiciness, cover the meatloaf loosely with foil during baking if it begins to brown too quickly.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to retain its juices.
