Enjoy a quick and delicious Loaded Green Bean Casserole that’s perfect for any occasion! This easy recipe uses minimal ingredients and is sure to impress your family and friends.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup French fried onions
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, bacon bits, crispy fried jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for about 5 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the blanched green beans, sautéed onions and garlic, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Season with salt and pepper, mixing well.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, sprinkle with French fried onions and any optional toppings. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use fresh mushrooms sautéed with the onions and garlic.
  • Add soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the mixture for depth.
  • Experiment with different cheeses for the topping.
  • Use half-and-half for a creamier texture instead of milk.
  • Add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños for a spicy kick.
