Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: nuts or chocolate chips for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Whisk until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before slicing. Serve as desired with butter, honey, or your favorite spread.
Notes
- Use ripe bananas with brown spots for best flavor and moisture.
- Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the bread moist and fluffy.
- Incorporate nuts or chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.
- Store leftovers wrapped in foil or an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze slices for longer storage.
