Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange yams in a baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt. Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour caramel sauce over yams, tossing gently to coat evenly.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, basting halfway through, until yams are tender and caramel is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, drizzle with additional caramel if desired, and garnish with chopped nuts before serving.
