- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ½ cup warm milk
- ½ cup pumpkin puree
- ¼ cup granulated sugar

For the Coffee Maple Frosting:
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp brewed coffee
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, a pinch of sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy to activate the yeast.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, and activated yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for approximately 1 hour or until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll the dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick. Spread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 1 to 1.5-inch rounds. Arrange in a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the frosting by beating softened butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, maple syrup, brewed coffee, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Drizzle the warm cinnamon rolls with the Coffee Maple Frosting and serve immediately for the best experience.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough.
- You can prepare the rolls a day ahead and store them in the refrigerator overnight before baking.
