Ingredients
- Crescent Rolls: The foundation of our bake, providing a buttery, flaky crust.
- Cooked Chicken: Shredded or diced; rotisserie chicken works great for convenience.
- Cream Cheese: Adds a creamy, rich texture to the filling.
- Cream of Chicken Soup: Binds the filling together and enhances the chicken flavor.
- Cheddar Cheese: For a cheesy topping that melts beautifully.
- Seasonings: Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and any other herbs you enjoy.
Instructions
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat in your baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a solid bottom crust.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream cheese, and cream of chicken soup. Mix well until everything is thoroughly combined and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Carefully roll up the crescent dough with the chicken mixture inside, tucking and rolling until a log shape is achieved. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- Add Veggies: Mix in cooked broccoli, spinach, or mushrooms to the chicken filling for added nutrients and flavor.
- Spice It Up: Add hot sauce or chopped jalapenos for a spicy kick.
- Cheese Variations: Use a blend of cheeses like mozzarella or Monterey Jack instead of cheddar.
- Herbs and Spices: Experiment with different herbs such as thyme, rosemary, or paprika.
- Make Ahead: Assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
