Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 6 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until the onion is translucent.
- Drain excess grease and combine the browned beef mixture with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese in a mixing bowl.
- Spoon the mixture onto the bottom halves of hamburger buns, adding any additional toppings as desired, then cover with the top halves of the buns.
- Place the assembled burgers in the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the cheese is melted and buns are soft.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.
- Toast the buns lightly for added texture.
- Experiment with different cheese varieties for unique flavors.
- Add finely chopped vegetables for extra nutrition.
- Prevent soggy buns by placing parchment paper between the burgers and the slow cooker base.
