Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, sour cream, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 55-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure bananas are ripe for optimal sweetness and flavor.
- Be careful not to overmix the batter to keep the bread light and fluffy.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
- Freeze slices wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
