Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey for a healthier option)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4-6 hamburger buns (preferably mini size)
- 2 slices of cheese (American or cheddar)
- Pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise for toppings
- Olive or sliced black olives for eyes
- Optional: cooked bacon bits or sautéed onions for extra flavor
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form small, flat oval-shaped patties resembling the top part of a skull. Set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the beef skull patties on the sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through. Gently press some indents using a spoon before baking for a more authentic skull look.
- While the patties are baking, slice the hamburger buns in half. Once cooked, place a beef skull on the bottom half of each bun. Top with cheese slices, pickles, and condiments as desired. Cover with the top bun to complete the skull shape.
- Add small olives or sliced black olives for eyes. Use ketchup or mustard to draw spooky faces or scars on the skulls for extra Halloween fun.
Notes
- Prepare the beef patties a few hours in advance to save time. Assemble and decorate just before serving to ensure freshness.
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based patties for a vegetarian or healthier version.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer to keep the cheeseburgers crispy.
