Ingredients
Scale
- 24 Oreo cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Assorted Halloween-themed sprinkles and decorations (e.g., edible eyes, bats, pumpkins)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Take each Oreo cookie and sandwich a generous amount of cookie dough around it. Flatten each into a cookie shape on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Allow cookies to cool slightly, then decorate with Halloween-themed sprinkles and edible decorations.
Notes
- For extra spooky decorations, use edible eyes and themed sprinkles to adorn the cookies.
- Make sure not to overbake to keep cookies chewy and soft.
- Decorate cookies once completely cooled for best adherence of decorations.
