- 1 cup fresh shelled pistachios
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Chopped pistachios for garnish
Instructions
- In a food processor, pulse the fresh shelled pistachios and honey until finely ground and mixed into a paste.
- Gradually add a small amount of whole milk while processing until the mixture is creamy and free of lumps.
- In a saucepan, heat the remaining milk and granulated sugar over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture simmers.
- Slowly whisk in the pistachio blend to the milk mixture until fully combined, then remove from heat and let cool.
- Stir in vanilla extract and heavy cream, chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days for best flavor.
- This dessert can be prepared a day in advance for gatherings.
