Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup assorted toppings (bell peppers, olives, pepperoni, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour and salt, make a well in the center, and add yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms and knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for an hour until doubled in size. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to desired thickness.
  4. Transfer rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet, spread tomato sauce, and leave a border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce and arrange your toppings.
  6. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and bake the pizza for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
