Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup assorted toppings (bell peppers, olives, pepperoni, etc.)
Instructions
- Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, combine flour and salt, make a well in the center, and add yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms and knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for an hour until doubled in size. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to desired thickness.
- Transfer rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet, spread tomato sauce, and leave a border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce and arrange your toppings.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and bake the pizza for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a crispier crust, use a preheated pizza stone and bake at a higher temperature.
- You can freeze the unbaked pizza for up to three months.
