  • 1 tablespoon honey (for boiling water)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water and yeast in a large mixing bowl; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the yeast mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic; cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Divide dough into 12 pieces and shape into bagels.
