- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat together the butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased and lined baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Notes
- Your German cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, wrap tightly with aluminum foil and freeze for up to 2 months.
