- 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, sourdough)
- 4 large eggs
- 6 strips of bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- Cook bacon until crispy in a skillet over medium heat, then drain on paper towels.
- Scramble or fry eggs until cooked to your liking, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Butter one side of each bread slice. Place a slice of bread buttered side down on a baking sheet or skillet.
- Layer cheese, eggs, and bacon on the bread. Top with the second slice, buttered side up.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) or cook in a skillet covered with a lid until the bread is golden and cheese is melted, about 5-7 minutes.
Notes
- Feel free to add sautéed vegetables, hot sauce, or fresh herbs for extra flavor.
- To prevent sogginess, toast bread thoroughly before assembling.
