- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas with a fork. Stir in melted butter.
- Beat in sugars, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; stir just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas (black speckled skin) for maximum sweetness and moisture.
- For extra fudgy texture, add 1/4 cup melted chocolate or 2 tbsp Greek yogurt.
- Store wrapped at room temp for 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
