Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash bananas with a fork. Stir in melted butter.
  3. Beat in sugars, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; stir just until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
