Instructions

- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in buttermilk or yogurt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in diced apples and nuts if using.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
